Aviv Quartet (Switzerland)

Established in Israel in 1996, the Aviv Quartet is the winner of the Grand Prix and 4 special awards at the Third Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition (Australia, 1999); First place “Amadeus Prize” at Charles Hennen Competition (Holland, 1999); Schubert Prize at Schubert Competition (Graz, Austria, 2003), second place (no first place awarded) and the International Critics Prize at Bordeaux String Quartet Competition (France, 2003).
The Aviv Quartet has performed at some of the leading venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall (New York), Kennedy Center and The Library of Congress (Washington), Sydney Opera House, Cologne Philharmonie, Vienna Konzerthaus, Wigmore Hall and Royal Festival Hall (London), Louvre Auditorium, Theatre du Chatelet (Paris), Tonhalle (Zurich) and the large concert hall at the Geneva Conservatorium. Furthermore, the Aviv Quartet has performed in festivals such as Verbier Davos, Aix en Provence, Louberon, es Folles. In addition, the quartet has regularly performed in Brazil, China, Australia, Ireland, Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Croatia, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, Canada, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Belgium and Switzerland.
The quartet recorded several CDs with Naxos, including a string quintet by Schubert in 2018. In 2019, the Aviv Quartet performed Beethoven’s 16 string quartets in six concerts in Geneva.
