Rishonim String Quartet

 

Established in 1993 by four leading musicians of the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon le Zion, with the encouragement of Noam Sheriff, at the time the orchestra's music director - Rishonim String Quartet is one of Israel's leading chamber music ensembles. In its long tenure the quartet took part in festivals such as "Tzlilim Bamidbar", Schleswig-Holstein, the Israeli Schubertiade, Israel Music Fest, and frequently performs on the best stages for chamber music throughout the country, among which are the Israeli Conservatory Tel Aviv, Haifa's chamber music association, BYU Jerusalem Center, Tzavta Theater in Tel Aviv, Keshet Eilon, and more.
The quartet's repertoire manifests a broad spectrum of musical works and styles, and consists of some of the greatest and most celebrated music in this genre, including works by Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Smetana, Dvorak, Ravel, Shostakovich, Ravel, any many more. 
A special interest and passion of Rishonim's has always been performing music written by Israeli composers, prenieres , as well as repeated performances. Thus, the quartet regularly performs works by Oedoen Partos, Haim Permont, Ella Milch Sheriff, Gil Shohat, Menahem Wiesenberg, and many others. 
The quartet is regularly collaborating with wonderful musicians among which are:  the pianists Orit Wolf, Daniel Gortler and Justus Franz, clarinetists Orit Orbach and Danny Erdman, violist Shuli Waterman, and cellist Hillel Zori.
