Guy Pelc
Baritone
Graduate of the Thelma Yellin high school of the Arts, and served in the IDF as an outstanding musician. Guy has studied voice and orchestral conducting at the Jerusalem Academy of music and dance in the class of Marina Levit, Ido Ariel, Ronen Borshevsky, and Evgeny Tsirlin. A graduate of Meitar Ensemble’s ‘Tedarim’ project for new music, as a conductor.
Guy has been the conductor of the Moran Singers Ensemble in 2014-2019 with Naomi Faran as musical director, and the founder of Cecilia Ensemble, in which he is a Singer and conductor, a vocal octet that focuses on performing contemporary Israeli music, along with a cappella repertoire with a soloist approach.
As a Baritone singer, he has performed with many orchestras and baroque ensembles such as the Israel Camerata Jerusalem, the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva Orchestra, the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Israel Netanya Kibbutz Orchestra, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Contemporary Players, the Taverner Consort (UK), the Capella Cracoviensis (Poland), the Weimar Orchestra (Germany), the Dohnanyi Orchestra Budafok (Hungary),the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, and the Barroccade ensemble.
He has performed numerous opera roles such as Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas by Purcell, Siene in Vivaldi’s Festival on the Siene, Pimpinone in Pimpinone by Telemann and by Albinoni, Zurga in Les pêcheurs de perles by Bizet, Otton in L’incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi, Chutner in The Wonderous Woman within by Osnat Netzer, and Apollo in Orfeo by Monteverdi.
Recordings of Guy include the role of Apollo in Orfeo by Monteverdi, conducted by Andrew Parrot with the Taverner Consort under AVIE label, and Songs of Land, Israeli songs arranged for voice and piano by Menachem Wiesenberg under IMI label.
